Design Lab Launch Party

Lord & Taylor has recently launched its Design Lab collection, a clothing line full of trendy pieces for under $100! It partnered with Her Campus, Boston University, and Northeastern University this past weekend to host two launch parties at its Boston location. I attended the Saturday night event, and it was so much fun!

The night started with each girl getting a free makeover. The first 25 girls to show up received a free swag bag full of awesome beauty samples! There was also the chance to sign up to win an outfit from Design Lab. Georgetown Cupcakes sponsored the event with gorgeous little cupcakes, which was nice to snack on while walking around the collection!

I was thrilled with my makeover! The makeup artist did a very natural look on me. I had to wait in line for a little while to get my makeover because there were other girls ahead of me, but the actual makeover took no more than ten minutes.

There was an adorable Instagram cutout, so of course I had to take a picture with it! The cutout was used for showing off your snazzy makeover. Most of the girls used it in their pictures!

I always love attending events like this one, which is definitely one of the perks of being a Boston fashion blogger. I knew I had to attend when I found out about it on Friday night, and I'm so happy that I did. Plus it gave me a chance to do two of my favorite things: visit the Prudential Center and go shopping. How could I resist?!

Blogging Hiatus

With my high school career quickly coming to an end, I unfortunately had to take a little blogging hiatus. Still deciding which college I want to attend next year, preparing for AP exams, completing last minutes assignments, and getting ready for end of the year events, I have been mega stressed!

However, I am excited to be coming back to my little blog soon with fun, fresh, exciting content. Thanks for all the love and support! XO

Pinspiration

The fact that it's now March and there's still a ridiculous amount of snow on the ground in MA has me feeling miserable! Senioritis has hit me to the max now that I graduate in a little over two months, and I'm itching for warm weather to wear pretty dresses. I was searching through Pinterest the other day and found some motivating images that keep me chugging along and some more that remind me that warmer weather does exist!

How to Complete Your To-Do List

Some days my to-do list is so long that I feel like I'll never finish it in a decent amount of time. And when I see that I have a lot of stuff to do, it doesn't give me any motivation to do it. So, I've developed a system that helps me to crank out my to-do list, and it works really well!

one // set a reward
Setting a reward to get when you finish your to-do list is a great incentive to find motivation to get things done. The incentive that I always choose is going to the gym. My life is so busy that I usually have to carve in a certain time for me to go to the gym, even though I love going! By telling myself that I'll have enough time to go to the gym if I finish everything, it really makes me want to get everything done. Another great reward is watching a couple of episodes of whatever series you're currently watching on Netflix. I just started One Tree Hill on Netflix this past weekend (and almost done with the first season, sorry not sorry!), so having enough time to watch some of it during the week is relaxing and awesome.

two // stay focused
Sometimes when you have a lot of things to do, especially ones that bore you, it's easy to get distracted. I especially get distracted while on social media, so I try to stay away from that! Put away any devices that might make it easy for you to get distracted. Take a little break every hour or so in order to go back to your list feeling refreshed and motivated, but try not to take too long of a break because then it will be harder to go back!

three // write it down
I write down everything that I need to do. If I don't write it down, I'm guaranteed to forget about it. It's also super rewarding being able to physically cross out any completed task; it always motivates me to keep going and gives me an idea of how much I have left to do!

four // create a schedule
Create a schedule of certain time frames for each task. This helps me to stay focused. It also lets me know if I'm falling behind on time or if I'm getting through things quickly. Finishing tasks before the allotted time is done also motivates me because it lets me know that I'll have even more time to spend on my reward, or going to the gym!

Statement Necklaces

I absolutely love wearing statement necklaces because they can make a simple outfit so much more fun. My favorite outfit to add a statement necklace to is a plain tee, distressed boyfriend jeans, and a fab pair of heels; way too cute!

Since my statement necklace collection isn't too big, I've been searching all over to find the cutest pieces to add to it. Check out the ones I'm swooning over below!

Review // Paper Tie Affair

Remember that inspiration wall I keep bringing up? It's starting to come together really well, and I am super excited about it! I've recently gotten three new prints to add to it, and they are definitely my all-time favorites.

I worked with Kenzie of Paper Tie Affair on my new gold foil prints, and they are amazing. After searching through my Pinterest for the best quotes and phrases, we customized three different prints for me. I love that Kenzie was so open to hearing my ideas. She showed me all of the different fonts she had, so I told her just what I had in mind. She made each idea of mine to complete perfection. She will happily make any kind of custom foil!

Kenzie even threw in the cutest little notebook for me! I can't wait to use it to write down blog post ideas once I finish using my other blog notebook.

I'm super thrilled with how everything turned out! Kenzie was so fun and easy to work with. I ordered a couple of adorable frames to put the prints in, and I can't wait for them to come in.

Want the prints that I got? Buy the custom foil option and include a note to the seller saying which specific print you want from Private School Prepster!

Spring Shoes

The arrival of March makes me super excited for spring! It makes me want to switch over my wardrobe and do some spring cleaning to get rid of clothes I don't want in order to get clothes that I do want. One of my goals for this spring is to get more spring shoes. Check out my favorites below!
